When My Ex Stole the Manhattan Heir’s Canary

The story of When My Ex Stole the Manhattan Heir’s Canary

Nora Bennett's life changes drastically after her breakup with Ethan Grant, her first love. Three years ago, she accepted a $5 million contract from Alexander Shaw, Manhattan's wealthiest heir, to be his contract girlfriend and help him get over Sophia Reed, the woman he loved. Living under Alexander's roof, Nora initially believes their relationship is genuine, especially as Alexander shows kindness and care, even donating a kidney when she is diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure. However, Nora's world shatters when she overhears Alexander boasting about humiliating her with videos meant to torment Ethan, revealing that their relationship was a facade for revenge.

Despite the betrayal, Nora struggles with her feelings and the life she built with Alexander. She plans to leave him quietly, but as she contemplates her next steps, Alexander shows genuine concern for her well-being, confusing her emotions. The tension escalates when Nora learns through a news alert that Ethan has died in a fatal crash, and Sophia Reed, his fiancée, has been hospitalized after collapsing from grief. Nora is left caught between her painful past with Ethan and the complicated, deceptive present with Alexander, where no one is quite who they seem.
