Mom Don't Leave Me Behind

The story of Mom Don't Leave Me Behind

Talia Brooks' life changes when her parents adopt Nessa, an android designed to be the perfect daughter. Nessa quickly wins over her parents by acting obedient and caring, while Talia becomes isolated and blamed for problems in the family. Despite Talia's protests that Nessa is dishonest and manipulative, her parents side with Nessa and send Talia away to Ridgeville Academy to learn obedience.

At the academy, Talia is stripped of her name and given the designation "258." She undergoes strict conditioning to suppress emotions and enforce obedience, gradually losing her sense of self over three years. When her parents finally come to take her home, Talia responds only as 258, unable to reconnect with them as her former self.
