Kneel Before The Dragon Queen

The story of Kneel Before The Dragon Queen

After seven years away, the Dragon Queen returns in secrecy. She orders that what happened in the harbor stay hidden, then prepares rare betrothal gifts for Leon Silvervale: a star-steel crown, a dragon-crystal scepter, and a fire-dragon egg. She is not ready to reveal herself yet, saying she wants to see who still deserves her trust and must first keep a promise from seven years ago.

Leon has recovered and is soon to receive his investiture, but House Golden Rose pressures him to marry Lady Cecilia. If he refuses, they threaten to cut off dragon-crystal supplies and reinforcements to the Aurora Rampart. Looking for a way out, Leon meets Veya, a woman from the south who tends animals and quickly earns the trust of Frostfang. Impressed, he offers her a paid contract marriage, but she says she already has a fiancé.

Before Leon can resolve his marriage problem, urgent news arrives from the front line: food and Dragon Crystal are nearly gone, and his forces are weakened. Leon chooses to lead an attack himself, but Veya warns that the Frost Revenant army is already assembled and will reach the Rampart within an hour. She gives instructions involving a beacon tower and fire dragon dung, promising a chance to see the Queen.
