I Don't Eat Leftovers Anymore

The story of I Don't Eat Leftovers Anymore

Ella Bennett is the overlooked youngest child in a family that favors her siblings with love and attention, while she is left with leftovers and chores. After a long day at her part-time job, she returns home to find only scraps waiting for her, a pattern that deeply hurts her but she endures silently. Her mother and father treat her differently, and even her siblings seem indifferent to her feelings. Despite this, Ella remains hopeful that things might change, especially after she passes an important exam and plans to study dance in Europe.

When Ella finally confronts her mother about the unfair treatment, asking for proper meals instead of leftovers, her request is met with dismissive promises and continued neglect. She discovers that her family’s idea of "saving food" for her is actually just leftovers, not the warm, freshly prepared meals given to her siblings. Ella realizes she is not just less favored but unloved, and the emotional toll leaves her exhausted and isolated. The family dynamics remain tense, with her parents and brother criticizing her for not doing chores, while she struggles with her feelings of invisibility. Ella’s quiet suffering and the contrast between her and her siblings highlight her growing resolve to change her situation.
