Ghost of the Beautiful Corpse

The story of Ghost of the Beautiful Corpse

Vivian and Isla are roommates who discover a mummified 17th-century European noblewoman's body in a hidden cave during a hike. Isla, eager for online fame, takes a photo with the corpse and uses a face-swap filter, ignoring Vivian's warnings about a curse linked to disturbing the ancient dead. Vivian, cautious and influenced by her grandmother's old journal, urges Isla to delete the photo to avoid supernatural consequences.

As Isla's social media following grows rapidly, she dismisses Vivian's concerns and becomes obsessed with her viral fame, even as her health visibly deteriorates. Vivian grows increasingly worried as Isla loses weight and appears consumed by the curse. Isla's social circle notices her alarming decline, and she prepares for important cheerleading tryouts, while Vivian remains concerned about the curse's hold on her roommate. The story focuses on the dangers of vanity and disrespecting the dead, as the ancient corpse's curse threatens to consume Isla.
