The story of After Being Sacrificed, I Buried Olympus

For twenty years, Elara has been raised as a beloved daughter and promised to Cassian, and on the day of her ascension she is led to the altar as the Saintess of the Sun. Then the truth comes out. The family who raised her picked her up as a baby in Morningville, her sister Lyra is the true Saintess, and Elara was kept pure only so she could be burned as Apollo's sacrifice. Her parents, her sister and Cassian all watch the fire take her.

In the underworld, Hades pulls her back. He tells her she was born with the spring goddess's power, which is why the sacred fire could not destroy her, and that the gods' greed for souls is breaking the order of life and death. He wants order; she wants revenge. He restores her and leaves three seals of his own power in her body, but they last only thirty days.

Elara vows to bring down the Sun within those thirty days and returns to Morningville, where her life began. There she finds the temple's men starving villagers and dragging away a mother's last child, and she steps in to stop them.

In Morningville, temple men are taking a grieving mother's last child as tribute and order her punished. Elara steps in and declares war on the Sun God's temple.
