The Real Daughter Returned from the Country—and She's a Beauty

The story of The Real Daughter Returned from the Country—and She's a Beauty

Lyra Voss was sent away as a child to live with her grandmother in the Black Forest because her parents valued beauty and a beautiful voice, traits they believed she lacked. Nicknamed "Runt" and dismissed by her family, Lyra returns home after eighteen years upon earning a high SAT score and acceptance to Moren University. Her family, including her glamorous sister Vivian, greet her with coldness and skepticism, focusing on her appearance and doubting her place in their world.

Lyra is assigned to Vivian's former dressing room, a clear indication of her family's low regard for her. Vivian shows kindness and encourages her, but their mother remains critical, fixated on Lyra's looks rather than her talents. Lyra plans to move into the university dorms soon, determined to build her own path away from her family's shadow. Reflecting on her grandmother's love and the contrast between her humble upbringing and her sister's luxurious life, Lyra faces the challenge of reclaiming her identity and place within the family.
