The story of The Mage Behind the Crown

Emily Ashford and Lucien Ravenscroft are two students at the Royal Academy of Magic, both dismissed by others. Emily struggles with basic spells and is seen as weak, while Lucien, once a prodigy, is now a fragile invalid who depends on a Life Crystal made by his sister Sarah Hina Ravenscraft, the realm's strongest healer. Emily's brother, Adrian Ashford, is a legendary archmage and head of the High Council.

Their lives change when the lost princess Isabella arrives at the Academy. At a banquet held in her honor, Isabella demands Lucien's Life Crystal. Emily defends Lucien fiercely, summoning a silver emergency beacon that calls for her brother's help, challenging the princess's authority. The princess orders Lucien to be taken to the Abyssal Frost Trial Pool, a freezing test to prove the Life Crystal's power. Emily tries to teleport Lucien to safety but is stopped by royal knights. Despite being the weakest mage, Emily refuses to abandon Lucien and vows to make the princess pay for her cruelty.

The story begins with the clash between the underestimated duo and the crown's oppressive forces, setting the stage for their struggle for survival and justice.
