The Dragon's Chosen Mate

The story of The Dragon's Chosen Mate

Eli Winters is a young knight stationed at a border plagued by dragon raids. He refuses to sign the dragon hunt order demanded by his commander, believing knights should protect people rather than kill dragons. For his defiance, Eli is stripped of his armor and sword and cast out from the order.

After his expulsion, Eli meets Syrian Valan, a silver-haired dragon who reveals he was the small silver dragon Eli secretly tended and saved from injury twelve years ago. Syrian explains that dragons choose one mate for life and that Eli's scent has been imprinted on his blood since then. Despite Eli's insistence that he is a dragon-hunting knight, Syrian challenges him to reconsider his beliefs about dragons and their place in the world.

Eli faces a conflict between his loyalty to the knight order and the mysterious bond forming with Syrian, the dragon who saved his life, setting the stage for a struggle between duty and destiny.
