My Mafia Husbands 100 Was for My Best Friend

The story of My Mafia Husbands 100 Was for My Best Friend

Evelyn has always been able to see a love score above the people closest to her. Her husband, Adrian Moretti, son of the Moretti family, shows a flat 50 for almost everyone, but a 90 for her, the number for deep love. So she has never worried about the constant fights between Adrian and her best friend, Sloane Bennett, who call each other heartless and rabid at every turn.

On her birthday, Evelyn waits at home for four hours with reheated steaks, burned-down candles and a box holding a positive pregnancy test and a card suggesting the name Haven. Instead, she has to rush to one of the Moretti social clubs, where Adrian and Sloane are arguing again. As Adrian stares at Sloane, the number above his head jumps past its limit and settles at a perfect 100.

The signs keep coming. Adrian smells of Sloane's favorite wintergreen mints, and when Sloane sends a voicemail from the emergency room, he swears he will not go, then leaves ten minutes later. Alone at two in the morning, Evelyn tears up the card and calls a lawyer to draft a divorce settlement and an investigator to look into them both. The next day a doctor confirms she is almost seven weeks pregnant, but just as they might hear the baby's heartbeat, Adrian walks out again to help Sloane.
