Love Was Their Bet

The story of Love Was Their Bet

Lily is a scholarship student at Blackwood University, struggling to manage her finances and maintain her scholarship while working shifts to make ends meet. She is targeted by Hudson, the wealthy and arrogant captain of the hockey team, who bets with his roommates that he can make her his girlfriend within a few months. Unbeknownst to Hudson, Lily has been keeping a fake diary filled with false information to mislead him. When Hudson steals and reads the diary, he discovers that Lily agreed to date him only to get closer to him, which frustrates him but also intensifies his pursuit.

Hudson introduces Lily to his three roommates during a dinner at a steakhouse, where Lily plays along with the charade, pretending to be interested in one of them to provoke Hudson’s competitive nature. She cleverly feigns a peanut allergy, a detail she invents to test Hudson’s attentiveness. Meanwhile, she observes the roommates closely, noting their personalities and reactions. Hudson remains unaware of Lily’s true intentions, while Lily prepares to use her fake diary and acting skills to get even with him.
