I Took the Fortune He Took the Regret

The story of I Took the Fortune He Took the Regret

Evelyn, a werewolf woman, is betrayed by those closest to her: Damon, the Alpha of the Blackthorn tribe and her mate; Chloe, Damon's mistress who is also Evelyn's half-sister; and even her father Richard and brother Julian. After Evelyn slapped Chloe, Damon had Evelyn's family falsely committed to the tribe psychiatric hospital to control her. Evelyn cared for Chloe during her pregnancy and birth, unaware that her father and brother were never hospitalized but instead conspired with Chloe.

When Evelyn learns the truth, she demands $100 million from Damon and the termination of their mate bond. Damon agrees and offers her a mate-bond termination agreement along with the money. He then forces Evelyn to leave the manor they shared, giving her keys to a new home outside the tribe. As Evelyn prepares to leave, she reflects on the pain of rejection, the loss of her pup, and her determination to start anew, free from manipulation and deceit.
