I Refused the Moretti Name

The story of I Refused the Moretti Name

Elena has never tolerated being manipulated. When Don Lorenzo Moretti reveals she is the daughter his family lost 25 years ago, she is introduced to the powerful Moretti family. However, she faces immediate hostility, especially from Sophia, the daughter they raised instead. At a family dinner, Sophia deliberately takes Elena's assigned seat, showing the ongoing rejection Elena experiences. The family’s favoritism toward Sophia is clear through missed birthdays, broken promises, and being left alone at the courthouse on the day of her name change.

After withdrawing her petition to change her name to Moretti, Elena keeps the name her adoptive mother gave her and moves out with a single suitcase. Tensions rise as Elena confronts the family about their neglect. She notices Sophia wearing an antique sapphire bracelet engraved with Elena’s name and birthdate, a bracelet her grandmother had commissioned for her at birth and supposedly kept for her all these years. Elena refuses to be sidelined, standing firm in her fight for her rightful place in the Moretti family.
