Don't Wake the Dead Man

The story of Don't Wake the Dead Man

Fifteen years ago, a deadly man in black lowered his gun over a baby's crib and carried her away instead of killing her. He disappeared from the Syndicate's radar by faking his death as Roman Asher. Now living quietly at Tidewater Station as dockhand Cole Andrews, he raises the child, Kira, on his own while swallowing daily insults and disrespect to protect his secret.

When a crooked debt forces Kira, now a teenager, into the fighting circuit, the Syndicate begins to take notice, suspecting Roman Asher might still be alive. Cole advises Kira to keep a low profile and avoid confrontation, emphasizing survival over heroics. Kira places third out of 200 in a fighting tournament but grows frustrated with her father's passive approach to their dangerous world.
