When I Speak, Fate Obeys

The story of When I Speak, Fate Obeys

Claire Bennett, a broke heiress, faces betrayal on her wedding day when her fiancé Ethan Brooks abandons her for another woman, Chloe, and demands Claire give up her place and her mother's wedding dress. In a bold move to defy her family and reclaim her dignity, Claire impulsively proposes marriage to Nico Vallée, a street psychic believed to be mute and penniless. Nico reveals that he is not mute by choice but because a magical seal was placed on his voice to protect others from his words. He accepts Claire's proposal, and they marry immediately, shocking everyone around them.

The newlyweds return to the Bennett mansion, where Claire introduces Nico to her parents. Despite initial skepticism, Claire stands firm in her choice. Their confrontation escalates when Ethan and his family arrive, demanding Claire annul her marriage to Nico and threatening to hold another wedding to reclaim her. Claire defiantly presents their marriage certificate, asserting Nico's rightful place in the family. As Nico's magical seal begins to weaken, the couple prepares to face the challenges ahead, with the promise that when Nico finally speaks, fate itself may be forced to listen.
