They Fired me for Drinking Water But I Saved a City

The story of They Fired me for Drinking Water But I Saved a City

Maren Kade, codenamed Grey Falcon, is a skilled firefighter who won first place in the Joint Wildfire Rescue Selection but declined to join the National Wildfire Academy to stay in her hometown of Red Bay after her father Garrett died in a wildfire there. When a wildfire breaks out on Raven Ridge, Maren risks her life to rescue Mayor Dorian Halden's daughter Tamsen and twelve other children trapped in a canyon. She defies orders and leads them to safety through a riverbed route.

Despite her heroism, Maren faces false accusations from Deputy Chief Everett and his nephew Corbin, who claim she stole emergency supplies because she drank water she had personally bought and donated. They take credit for the rescue and push to have her suspended. By the end, Maren is suspended from active fire ground duty, with Corbin assuming command. However, the fire is not fully controlled; it has gone underground and is moving toward the city, putting Red Bay at risk. Maren challenges the department's decisions while the wildfire threat escalates.

The story follows Maren's fight against injustice within her department and her determination to protect her community from the growing wildfire danger.
