The Road Through Fire

The story of The Road Through Fire

Luke Carter, a former Marine, takes a job escorting Charlotte Morgan, a wealthy heiress, across the Mojave Desert in a battered red truck to pay for his comatose sister's care. Charlotte doubts the truck's reliability and questions Luke's skills, but her grandfather insists Luke is the only driver who has run this route for eight years without incident. Luke sets three strict rules: the destination is fixed, he chooses the route, and his fee is non-negotiable.

As they prepare to leave, tensions rise between Luke and Charlotte, who struggles to adjust to the harsh realities of desert travel. Luke warns her that the desert itself is less dangerous than the people they might encounter, emphasizing the need to drop any notions of luxury or politeness. Charlotte begins to understand the seriousness of their mission and the importance of trusting Luke's experience. Their survival depends on navigating the brutal environment and threats from armed raiders hunting them both.
