Sharing Burning Dreams with the Ice-Cold Football Captain

The story of Sharing Burning Dreams with the Ice-Cold Football Captain

Ellie has been having vivid, recurring dreams about a faceless boy with a heart-shaped birthmark on his chest. At a party, she overhears her brother Nate mocking Lucas Carter, the school's cold, untouchable football captain, who has the same unique birthmark. When Nate is taken to the police station after a fight defending a girl, Ellie is forced to ask Lucas, Nate's lifelong nemesis, for help to clear Nate's name.

Lucas initially refuses to testify for Nate, insisting he will only state the facts and not cover for him. That night, Ellie's dreams of the faceless boy return with greater intensity. Later, Lucas surprises Ellie by producing a recording that proves Nate acted in self-defense and exposes the real culprits, clearing Nate's name and getting them in trouble for blackmail and lying to the police. Ellie begins to wonder why Lucas harbors such animosity toward Nate, even as she questions whether the boy in her dreams might be real.
