The story of Locked in the Storage Room

Fifteen-year-old Emily Sterling goes to her father’s company, Sterling Tech, to wait for him after school. Vanessa, the CEO’s executive secretary, suspects Emily is a corporate spy and accuses her of causing the loss of a $20 million deal. Despite Emily’s protests, Vanessa physically mistreats her and drags her to the HR department, where employees turn against Emily.

Emily insists that Mr. Sterling is her father and that her uncle, Julian Ashford, is the client related to the lost deal. Vanessa and HR director William Dawson doubt her story and question her identity. Vanessa mocks Emily’s claim, saying Mr. Sterling is unmarried and on the Forbes list, so he could not have a daughter her age. Emily explains that she looks like her mother and that her parents kept her existence secret to protect her.

Vanessa continues to intimidate Emily and breaks a necklace her mother made for her. When William finds Emily’s student ID, it confirms she is not an employee. Despite this, suspicion and hostility toward Emily remain as she struggles to prove her identity and innocence within the company.
