I Stopped Waiting at the Line

The story of I Stopped Waiting at the Line

Alara has been secretly in a relationship with Justin Forster, the reigning Pacific Speed Champion, for five years. Despite their long history, Justin keeps their relationship hidden and consistently chooses his navigator, Savannah, as his co-driver during races, leaving Alara sidelined. The annual tradition of the champion inviting a fan to ride shotgun changed from a lottery to an open invitation, giving Alara hope for a chance to join Justin in the car. However, Justin continues to exclude her, favoring Savannah and dismissing Alara's feelings, even as they plan a wedding that remains private.

Tensions rise as Alara realizes Justin's deliberate actions to keep her out of the spotlight and maintain Savannah's position. After Justin publicly acknowledges his relationship with Savannah during a race celebration, Alara's hope fades, leading her to cancel their wedding plans and distance herself. Despite Justin's attempts to explain and promise future inclusion after the wedding, Alara feels neglected and overshadowed. The story centers on Alara's struggle to reclaim her place beside Justin and confront the reality of their hidden relationship, all while navigating the high-stakes world of competitive racing.
