Definitely Not the Mage Supreme

The story of Definitely Not the Mage Supreme

Lyra lives in the Kingdom of Arcos, a land ruled by magic and protected by many races. She believes her hands are cursed because any spell she touches falls apart. In truth, she has the rare ability to absorb any magic she contacts. Raised with harsh criticism and misunderstanding, Lyra struggles to control her power and uncover the truth about her lineage. When Cyrus, a man who found her as a baby, gives her a necklace from her cradle, he urges her to seek her origins among the nobles at the Ascension Trials, a deadly competition to claim a seat on the Council of Majors.

Determined to find answers, Lyra attempts to join the trials by offering her skills as a healer to the high sorceress, hoping this will grant her entry and lead her to her parents. However, she faces rivalry and suspicion from other competitors, including a masked stranger who repeatedly intervenes in her life. Lyra demonstrates her unique magic absorption ability by countering a spell, signaling her growing control over her powers and setting the stage for the challenges ahead. The story follows Lyra's journey through the Ascension Trials as she confronts her past and the secrets tied to the empty throne.
