Ashes of Blackgate: The Detective's Claim

The story of Ashes of Blackgate: The Detective's Claim

Vance, a hard-edged Metro PD major crime captain, narrowly escapes a burning warehouse during a raid. Returning to the crumbling Blackgate district he once cleaned up, he finds street thugs terrorizing a frail young man named Micah. Vance realizes the old case he closed years ago involving Blackgate was never truly resolved.

Investigating further, Vance discovers that the burned warehouse was linked to Blackgate Asylum, an illegal human experimentation site shut down a decade ago and replaced by a parking lot. However, Micah's presence and recent events suggest Blackgate's dark activities have simply relocated rather than ended. As Vance tries to protect Micah from local criminals and skeptical officers, the harsh streets show no mercy to the vulnerable.

Vance confronts the ongoing threat as he struggles with both criminals and law enforcement colleagues who doubt the danger. Determined, he pursues the truth behind Blackgate's lingering shadows and the continuing menace to the city.
