After the 99th Time, I Chose Myself

The story of After the 99th Time, I Chose Myself

Mara, a passionate racing driver, has endured years of control and punishment from her fiancé Gideon and neglect from her father Conrad, who favors his illegitimate daughter Delaney. After being locked in the wine cellar beneath Hawthorne Estate and physically punished for secretly entering races, Mara reaches a breaking point at a family gala where she discovers the truth about her father's secret family. Following a car accident, Mara wakes up to find herself reborn before these events, determined to live for herself rather than submit to their demands.

In this new chance at life, Mara confronts her father about his hidden mistress Lorraine Mercer and Delaney, rejecting his attempts to arrange a family reunion. She also confronts Lorraine and Delaney directly at their villa, exposing their secret to the neighbors. When Gideon arrives and demands she apologize and conform, Mara refuses and asserts her independence, even as Gideon abandons her on a deserted mountain road. Mara stands firm in her resolve to no longer be controlled by Gideon or her father, choosing to reclaim her own life and identity.
